Inclusive K-meson production in proton-nucleus interactions
The production of K-mesons in pA (A = D, C, Cu, Ag, Au) collisions has been investigated at the COoler SYnchrotron COSY-Jülich for beam energies Tp = 1.0 − 2.3 GeV. Double differential inclusive pC cross sections at forward angles θK+ < 12 ◦ as well as the target-mass dependence of the Kmomentum spectra have been measured with the ANKE spectrometer. Far below the free NN threshold at TNN = 1.58...
متن کامل- 02 Charm Production in Charged Current Interactions and Charm & Beauty Production in Neutral Current Interactions
The charm and beauty production cross sections in ep neutral current processes and the charm production cross section in ep charged current processes at high Q are measured at HERA. Their determination relies on an inclusive method, where secondary decay vertices are explicitly reconstructed using the H1 vertex detector. The charm and beauty cross sections in neutral current interactions are me...
متن کاملDiiractive Charged Meson Pair Production
We investigate the possibility to measure the nonforward gluon distribution function by means of diiractively produced + ? and K + K ? pairs in polarized lepton nucleon scattering. The resulting cross sections are sizable and are dominated by the gluonic contribution. We nd large spin asymmetries, both for + ? and for K + K ? pairs.
متن کاملTesting the Meson Cloud Model in Inclusive Meson Production
We have applied the Meson Cloud Model to calculate inclusive momentum spectra of pions and kaons produced in high energy proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions. For the first time these data are used to constrain the cloud cut-off parameters. We show that it is possible to obtain a reasonable description of data, especially the large xF (xF ≥ 0.2) part of the spectrum and at the same time ...
متن کاملInclusive quasielastic charged-current neutrino-nucleus reactions
The quasielastic (QE) contribution of the nuclear inclusive electron scattering model developed by Gil, Nieves, and Oset [Nucl. Phys. A627, 543 (1997); A627, 599 (1997)] is extended to the study of electroweak charged current (CC) induced nuclear reactions, at intermediate energies of interest for future neutrino oscillation experiments. The model accounts for, among other nuclear effects, long...
